Speaking of cleaning coins...

This 1917 S.L. quarter was part of the only "cache" I have ever found.($3.17 in an old tobacco can, probably someones long lost milk-egg money)The coin has great details but along the top is a rust stain were it touched the rusty can.All I have done to it was pick the rust glob off with a round wooden toothpick. As can be seen, this left a stain.Any ideas on what to do with it? (if anything)

I've succesfully removed surface stains with just a fuzzy ended toothpick dipped in CLR (calcium lime remover). If it's more than a stain then its probably gonna leave tiny pitting.
