Ma BettyC. Nyal de Kaye said:People with sincere hearts see things in differing ways. When someone argues that they found the "truth" in one denomination or the other, they are not being deceitful, but neither are they right or wrong.
Men with genuine and prayerful hearts before God have sought to understand His word, but have reached diametrically opposed conclusions. Wesley the Arminian and Spurgeon the Calvanist were both wonderfully blessed by God in their respective ministries, but they had opposing views of the Scriptures. If Wesley was right then Spurgeon was clearly wrong and vice-versa. But God blessed them both!
We all are wrong somewhere, but we believe whatever we believe with honest hearts before God. Our metal processes are faulty and our conclusions therefore are in error somewhere. Try as we may, we can't see just where our error lies and so we conclude that we are correct. At the same time someone else sees it altogether differently, and they are being honest too. Their thought processes just work differently to mine and, horror of horrors, they just might be right!
I think that there is much to gain by focusing our attention on the essentials of the Christian faith, as is mostly done here. Such a focus seems wise to me and is faith building and helpful to all.
