beautiful sunny day today! my brother & i got out to an old abandoned beer joint. he told me it was super trashy; he'd tried hunting it before. i no sooner turned on my explorer than i pulled a '44 merc from the parking area out front. i thought we were gonna make a killing, but that was our only coin.
this place is one of the trashiest sites i ever tried to hunt. i know there's more stuff there, but i lack the skill or patience to find it. i found a few more non-ferrous targets, but no more coins. my poor brother has a little cheap detector that was beeping non-stop on rusty nails. i wish he'd buy an explorer, but he doesn't have the passion for the hobby to spend the $$ i guess.
we had fun anyway and thoroughly enjoyed the weather. hh to all.

i generally hunt in one of two modes (i store them in user A and user B.) one is IM - 10, conductive sounds, the other is IM - 16, ferrous sounds. i will raise or lower sensitivity as i feel the need.
ferrous sounds, IM - 16 was driving me crazy, so i switched to user A, conductive sounds, and was getting a lot less noise.
several of the brass items i dug came out with 2 or 3 rusty nails! i'll go back & hit it a few more times, but it's definitely a tough spot. hh.
