Howdy

Just purchased a Minelab Xterra 305 and was wondering which most common / standard settings you are using? :twodetecting:

Thanks for your replies!

Wow, no replies! Im just considering a 305 for my 11yr old son. You figure the machine out yet? Is it decent? What is max depth on a quarter?
Thanks and looking forward to your vommenta.
Thx,
Mile

The 305 is the most bank for the buck in it's price point. It is however an entry level machine, which equates to it not having some features that would make it actually easier to use than even a slightly more advanced machine like the 505 or 705.
As far as "max depth on a quarter" goes, it's the same technology as all other Xterras and delivers the same performance in the field. Actual depth is dependent on soil conditions and frequency/configuration of the coil chosen.

Happy New Year!
No disc except high and low bars (avoids falsing), max sens, multiple tones and let it rip!
I can truly say the 305 is a nickle/gold getter. Dig everything until you get used to the machine.

With the standard coil 5-6" quarters are easy. My wife just got one for Xmas I have a 705 and the elliptical 18.75kh coil sens 24 she hear every deep signal I found. We only went once. I'll be trying the 305 out as the 705 is going in for warranty. So far it air test the same also.
