It's pretty rare but 1982 P may have the designer's initials missing, FG. His was or is Frank Gasparro. They are supposed to be on the reverse just to the right of the tail feathers and next to the leg. The 1983 P had some the same way but are even rarer. The 1971 and 1973 had double die reverses on some. Look in the words HALF DOLLAR and the C&A of America. These are fairly common but you might be able to sell them as a roll on ebay. Look for proof coins. They wiil be bright shiny background with fosted raised areas and an "S" mint mark. I haven't seen them auctioned but hey why not give it a try? All is not lost. You just need to know where and what to look for. Ebay has so many charges per auction that the owners must be billionaires by now.
May God bless you and yours,

First of all here is the book you are looking for!

Next! When asking for halves, ask for the oldest roughest looking rolls! :)
