Still learning

As said, every bit of dirt is different. I'm dealing with a lot of trash in well fertilized parks. So far: mid\upper 70's can slaw and junk jewelry, mid\upper 80's clad, ate up, pennies, 91-93 dimes, 94 up quarters. Copper pennies give false hopes....

I'll be back out Monday. I'll be digging some low 60's this time

Nickels vary a lot even in air tests. They are the most inconsistent coin other than zincolns in various states of decay. The reason they are rare is that when giving change, you will only get one nickel at most and it is not all that often you get one at all.

Here in Cali nickels read 63 every time. Dimes and copper cents 90-91 and quarters 92-95

Is that with every program? I have found the different weighting of frequencies of the programs can effect the numbers.

I mainly use program 1 and just tweak the tones. I will try some of the other programs and compare the numbers. These are in ground readings not air tests. The soil here near the coast is pretty mild. I also had pretty much the same numbers on my D1.

Yes indeed, 60 is the magic nickel number!! Copper pennies were a pain in the shorts today. 4 times I thought I had a dime and ....

Here's some stuff I've printed and put in little vinyl envelopes as cheat sheets. They are Not mine, but posted on the internet, mostly on this forum, one is from an older forum.

Let me know if this helps.
