I have only been out a couple of times with my safari and in coin mode all I keep finding are pennies. can someone help me determine what numbers are the best to block out to block most of the trash but still be able to have the best chances at finding coins and gold and silver. since I live in iowa most places I can go are schools and parks. please and thank you

Forget gold if you are going to discriminate much. Such is life.

For coins and silver only, run 36,37,38,39. That will give you quarters, dimes, and mostly copper pennies(36) tho a few zincs will creep in. Realize that you are cherry picking tho and will leave coins behind as i have found dimes and quarters in the low teens at times (tho it is unusual).

If you want to totally eliminate pennies, run only 37,38,39 open. It isnt 100% but if you really hate pennies, thats the way to go imo. Be sure you are in Auto sensitivity and Hi Trash mode. Conductivity vs Ferrous is a matter of personal preference.

If you're hunting an area where IH pennies may be found you'll have to accept a few more lower numbers than the above post, but if not, that should work for COIN hunting.

One more to add is silver dollars hit around 33/34 and Indians 30 and up I would keep them if you want to try to find them.also nickles are almost always 14 good luck
