Still no schedule but going to work anyway...what's the worst they can do...send me home again :shrug:

Was asked if I was called in. No. I said I hadn't worked in several days and thought I better come in to work. I worked on several projects - completing them and a few others. Went to lunch at 1:30 and when I came back the boss was coming in.
He said "you have 2 days off and 2 days 'on call' in case we need you when guests are here and so no one goes into overtime."
He asked if I had signed out before going to get lunch and I said no as the front desk had guests there and was going to sign out for lunch when the desk was clear. He made it obvious that he wanted me to not be there. I said if you want I will just sign out from the time I went to lunch and go home. He said OK.
I told him I had completed several projects including getting the expressway sign working (hasn't worked in several weeks and the other maintenance guy looked at it but could not get it fixed. The boss said it wasn't our sign and I should have cleared it through him first....the same guy who doesn't want to be bothered with what we are doing as long as things are getting done. Why did the other maintenamce guy look at if it is isn't our sign???? It has a McDonald's sign and out sign on it and Houghton Lake under it.
I was lead to believe this was a full time job. 2 days off, 2 days of being on call (and probably not going to be called in) then work 3 days with weird shifts (one day 5pm to 1 am, another day 3 pm to 8 pm another 5 pm to 1 am).
That doesn't come close to the full time I was lead to believe this would be. I have to go find another job. I have no clue what he wants me to do...if anything.
I am so upset...I want to tell him I quit but will wait til I find something else. I have received compliments from many of the staff there....and after today just feel someone ripped out my heart and stomped on it.
Oh well. He could have just fired me I guess. Haven't even gotten my first paycheck yet

Sorry, Pete, because that must be a nerve-wracking situation to be in.....never knowing whether to work or not! I hope you do get a paycheck, but I am wondering with the way things are going! Hang in there and trust in Jesus, because I still believe God gave you this job and by not complaining and working when you can, He will lead you to another one that is a lot better for you! Tell Him all about your troubles and ask Him to help you understand what is going on and that you need money to pay your bills! He already knows but He likes us to talk to Him, ask of Him and give Him much praise in all things! God Bless & Good Luck! Never give up on our Lord, for He is our answer to everything!

Today 5 pm - 11 with a ? after the 11 (6 hours)
Sat - 5pm - 1 am (8 hours)
Sun - Off
Mon - Off
Tues - On call
Wed - On call
Thur - 3 PM - 8 PM (5 hours)
So about 19 hours...if I don't get called in. He does not want ANY overtime so that is why the schedule is set up the way it is.
That 19 hours will be higher since there were a couple days I went in, worked a couple hours then was sent home.
Just got my first check today. More than I thought it would be.
Going to ride the bicycle to work tonight...leaving 'my tools' home.
In the meantime, while I work part time for this company I am looking for other full time jobs. Hard to schedule another part time job in. I will still keep the cleaning job at the church too for now.
Only major positive from this is I am off on Sunday and Monday so I can still be there for the Lord on those days. I sure missed church that first Sunday I had to work.
He also said he only wanted us to be available when the guests are there...in case they need something. He did say that there is more than enough work to keep both of us maintenance guys busy everyday but he only wants us there when guests are there.
Though that is fine to be there for the guests, there are some things that need repair and best done when the hotel isn't busy. Apparently that isn't important. Also, when the swimming pool and spa water levels drop too low...a pump can burn out...guess that isn't given much thought. Oh well, I am the peon.

Glad you rec your schedule and you are off on Sundays.....the Lord is good and merciful! Also great that you rec a check for the work you have done! Congrats!
