Still working on my bug-out pack...

If you haven't heard, my bug out pack is an emergency pack I would carry in my vehicle. It would have enough food and supplies to support me up to 5 days if for some reason I had to abandon my vehicle and walk home during a national disaster. Figuring an average man can walk 15-20 miles a day, if you've driven 100 miles from home you can figure a 5 or 6 day walk back. The supplies in this pack will just make it easier to accomplish that; the difference between an ordeal without it or a walk in the woods with it. Click photo's to enlarge~

Anyway, one of the things that I've got in the pack is these coke can alcohol burner. These are made by people who have a certain type of press that cuts and shapes the cans into these burners... very efficient and cheap, I believe I got 3 for $5. They run on alcohol or several other flammable liquids like HEET that is used to clear fuel lines. I've tested it a couple times and was pretty impressed. 2 Tablespoons of alcohol and this thing will burn for 12 to15 min. enough to heat a quart of water to a rapid boil. If anyone is interested, when I get my pack done I could do a more detailed presentation of what's in it. The bottom picture is the alcohol burner lit; I just used 1 teaspoon for this photo and it burned for about 4 minutes.

Thanks for looking

Did I fail to mention that since the drapery business is so slow that Charlie has become a chemist?

Yep, he's already perfected the science of turning alcohol into urine.
