Thanks guys!

The strange coin came out of the ground along the edge of the sidewalk at the elementary school two blocks from my house, in fact, all of these finds are from the school. My guess is a lost "Show and Tell" day piece. I left a lot of targets buried because of the frost layer that still existed in the wood chips all around the play equipment; it's amazing how frozen water and wood chips can make such a barrier! :rage:

Valuable lesson learned: Knee pads are a great idea when you are about 50 years old; mine were shot after two days of hunting. :stretcher:

Anyway, thanks again! And, YES, it has been a VERY long winter!!! Just this morning, on the way in to work, there was a dusting of snow on the ground. Ugh.

HH guys!

Nice haul Pony! 10-4 on the knee pads, learned that one quick and bought a new pair of hard capped pads after the second trip out. Had surgery on my right knee a year ago December, and discovered it doesn't like metal detecting near as much as I do! Anyway, great trip for you the last couple outings, congrats! :clapping:

I hear ya, Blues! I messed up my right shoulder playing disc golf with my sons one day (my swinging arm, of course), have several discs in my back that are FUBAR from my teen years of being bullet proof, and a left knee that just had it's second surgery a little over a year ago. When I asked the Dr. how long I could go on this knee until I needed to come back in, he said, "The next time you come in, it will be for knee REPLACEMENT!" (Keep in mind that I turn 50 in May, so I'm pretty messed up for my age...LOVE Advil!) :nopity:

Anyway, yeah, knee pads are a must for me, too!!! I'm thinking of hiring someone to dig for me! :|

Can't wait to get out again this week!

HH guys!

I heard that.. when I was young and dumb (er) I used to jump out of perfectly good airplanes and race motorcycles. I'm 57 going on around 80 on some days, but still givin' it all I got. I think my back is actually getting stronger from swinging the detectors. I was at a couple hours a day, last weekend I did two 8+ hour days swinging the F5, and it's getting to the point my back is tolerating it a lot better. Had surgery on the right knee a year ago, and that one gives me guff, but the fact that I've lost 35 lbs since January has helped a lot! :wiggle:
