Stock 11" coil:thumbup:

This coil has a "hot strip" right down the center. It is one of the main reasons that these new Minelab's recover faster. I will not be in any hurry to get a larger or even smaller coil. This one so far is getting the job done. Tex

Well I don't think it made my Quattro any faster on recovery . I've already tried it and it doesn't do diddly . Maybe it does better for the Safari . Coils don't make your recovery speed better . It's the guts in your machine ....

I think it is both. Improved software and coil design.

Now wate a minute Ratman! I own both the original 8 inch or (whatever it is Quatro coil), but I bought a 5 inch excellerator from Kellyco, and I'll tell you for sure that my Quatro can seperate trash, like night and day better with that smaller coil. I know it takes more swings to cover the same ammount of ground as the bigger coil, but it definitly separates the trash better, and whether it's because it recovers faster (computer wise) or not, all I know is that it DEFINITLY, separates the trash better. My feeling on this, and it's only my own thoughts here, is that because the 5" is a smaller coil, it "catches" the object quicker, and identifies it, then moves on to the next object or "target" much quicker and accuratly than the bigger coil. In my eyes, it separates the different objects "underground", more accuratly and distintly, than the bigger coil. Marc Trainor.

We were talking about the new 11' Pro coil that comes stock with the new Safari , Etrac , SE Pro etc . Big coils ! This topic wasn't about smaller coils for faster recovery . Duh ! Read before you poke at someone on something that has nothing to do with this topic . . :argue:

I just ordered a new Safari I have never used a detector before but I have been wanting to start a hobby! I hope I will find something with it some time. The place offered me a bounty hunter 505 for $70.00 with the Safari so I got that one too I figured if I could get my wife interested I would be able to go out more often.I hope the Safari workes better then the $39.99 Radio shack one!

I thought faster recovery was the whole idea behind the pro coil????? All DD coils are hot down the center, but Tex is right, the pro coil is very hot and does recover quickly.
