Straight Cable Curly Cable

Hi my earphones have a very long straight cable which always seems to get caught on something. I thought I would like to convert it into a curly cable using those heat shrink plastic tubes available at electronic stores. I would then wind it around a cylinder and use my heat gun.
Trouble is I can't thread the right diameter heat shrink past the audio pin.
Does anyone know if there is an "off the shelf" product available in the USA that I could use? Some sort of heat shrink tape would be good.

Hello,

I had same issue. I coiled-up a little of the cord and taped it. Making it a little shorter helped. Finally solved the problem by replacing headphones with a set that had a coiled cord!
