I am going to order Sun Ray X-1 Target Probe but can someone give me the good and the bad about the two types of cable on the Sun Ray X-1 Target Probe i am thinking about the curled one because I dont want to get all caught up on trees in the wood. what do you guys use and what do you think get the partially curled cable or straight the cable.

i had the coiled cable and had trouble so Ralhp suggested the straight cable and it works great. no more problems. Great product!!

As far as getting "hung up", the cable will make no difference. I have yet to be in a situation where I had to worry about my X-1 probe getting "hung up"! I will testify that if your X-1 probe fails because of their listed warrenty, they are good people and will make good on repair / replacement. Since you bought a Minelab, you're serious about finding old deeper coins. The X-1 probe will help locate them and prevent damage to the coin. It's one hell of an accessory and a must for Minelab users! Happy hunting and good luck.

Sunray replaced it with the straight cable and it has worked fine for a year now. I also have an original coiled one (5 years old) on my other machine which has never had a problem. Go with the straight one and I think you will have less problems.

I know they were having quite a few problems with the curled one last year. I had the curled one and it broke. I had the straight one installed and I've had no problems. My two partners had the same problem and went with the straight one. I would think the problems have been ironed out, but I'd play it safe and order the straight one. Either way Sunray will fix it if it breaks. It's just a pain to be without you main machine for a couple of weeks if you have to send it in for repair.
