I got started just before 10AM this morning for a cherrypicking hunt and a few hours later I looked down at the Deus clock on the remote...I'm forever forgetting that it's there, but today I checked it...when I looked down I saw 2:15. I thought to myself, where did the time go? I was only half way done with the property. About an hour later it dawned on me that I had to set the clock back an hour
Today I hunted in 12Khz and checked with 4Khz (4Khz VDIs are where my heart is, so I don't remember any of the 12Khz VDIs--I take notice when it gets up to 87-88 and take special notice beyond that--I don't discount lower numbers; I just don't get excited about it), GB 84, Ground notch 86-90, Notch 7-25, Disc 6 (switched to 1 after the tape-measure and changed notch accordingly), Full tones, Sens 88, TX-2 in 12Khz, React 2 Silencer -1, Iron Volume 1 and Audio Response 3.
With the exception of one of the dimes (thought it'd be a wheat), all were predicted before being dug. They ranged 4-5 inches and stood fast at 77-78 in 4Khz. The Washington was a bouncy 84-86 when I checked it in 4Khz; I pulled a wide plug and there it sat flat on the bottom of the plug. After removing it, the propointer sounded off again, and immediately under the quarter was a no-silver Jefferson nickel. The Barber quarter was a nice surprise early in the day at 5 inches with a bouncy 85, 86, 87 and 88 in 4Khz...not sure why it was so bouncy, but I was in an area with some nails, that could be it. It's my first Barber quarter of the year...and I missed seated by one year!
The soil is dry out here in the midwest, but we're expecting rain tomorrow (fingers crossed). My Deus settings were a little overkill for the area I was in, but I had already dug 12 inches for an empty vintage tape-measure early on, so I wanted to be sure to hear coins at that depth if possible.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
