Looks like your in the ball game, you just need the right target to walk over.

Thanks I just wanted to make sure I did not need to change things up a little and go to water more. I am learning and have no experience in the water but I am going to learn that next. It helps to know I am in the right area on the beach though.

your doing a great job..itll fall into place, your gold isnt far off...

Thanks I have a lot of time and been learning my machine and its different tones for what. I can tell you the Penny sound after this week end. And yes it is different on this machine.

You have some light looking stuff there....makes me wonder if there is a heavier layer there somewhere. I know on my beaches the targets seem to separate by weight. There will be a line of bottle caps and hairpins in one spot and then I have to go up or down the slope to find where the heavier items were exposed.Try using an S pattern in the wet sand and the first 10 feet of the shoreline. When you start digging lead fishing weights and black quarters and nickels, you're in the right area. If you get into a place where the target layer is thick...slow way down and work the area from several angles.Look for washed out areas and rocks and shells sticking up through the sand, also rippled troughs where there is sand removed. Best of luck to you! I bet that gold is just around the corner. Remember gold (usually) is the most consistent tone you will hear.

Allow me to draw some conclusions from just looking at your finds and the nut you show in your pics. Your loot has a lot of pennies and hoop earrings, these targets have high drag and low weight which means you will find them in sanded in areas because the soft sand will support them but it won't support most gold which sinks deeper until it finds sand firm enough to support it. The nut is composed of the same sort of targets - low weight and high drag.
I would hazard the guess that the conditions were not great at the beach you hunted and that it is partly sanded in. There may be gold in that beach but most of it will be out of range.

That's my take on it,

Thanks from both of you I will give area anothe try this time from the water as this is area I have not been abke to try. The sand is hard and should be good yet when digging you do encounter layers. Thanks for the advise and I will keep you posted
