SUPPOSED : Letter To The President. :usaflag:

BARKER

New member
Dear Mr. President; I am writing regarding some unknown variables regarding the Oil Spill here in the Gulf Coast. Although complaints about the Oil Spill are not new to you I wish to assure you that this is about something related but different OK. I watched your Address and the News Conference the next day. You spoke of the efforts to clean up the Oil and making BP pay for all the damages. That's a great idea and is appreciated to know that we will get paid back.My question to you is that although the cleaning and repaying us is great; How do you repair or repay someone for heartache ????
I have watched the devastation first hand. I'm seeing businesses close. Houses Foreclosed on by heartless Bankers. Scam Artists galore. Family fortunes lost and whole communities are becoming Ghost Towns. As bad as that is the real kicker hit home last night. You see I've spent the 2 months explaining to my kid about the oil situation. She really doesn't understand it all but she tries. After the Oil started effecting my area my Company shut down because it could not operate. I was let go along with all the other guys. I've been living the best I can and had saved some money put away.Well as my money ran out I could not afford to buy any more food, let alone pay bills. Then the day came yesterday when I had no more money left and could not get any food for my family. We had toast for supper. As I was putting my girl to bed, tucking her in she asked me "Will we eat tomorrow??" As I looked in her eyes and said yes honey we will OK. Then I left her room. Last night I could not sleep because I was "haunted" by the look of doubt and fear in her eyes knowing she was one step away from crying. I was too.
Mr. President; with all those great efforts how do you remove that look from my kids eyes??? Cleaning and Money ain't going to do it.!!! I know I'm not the only one in this situation. I see the same fear and yes Anger in my friends eyes. I see the local kids not playing ball. I see the local Little League Ball Team members dwindling. I've even seen some of them crying. The daily talk now is about what our futures are or where we're moving too instead of talking about boats, fishing and the Big One that did get caught. I see people selling everything they own, including their clothes. Mr. President believe me; With every item they sell they're also selling a part of their souls. They have no choice. With every child I see cry I see their Anger mount. Mr. President, you are a DAD. How would you feel??? I'm not blaming you directly but this hurts more than any money on Earth you could give us. I know you have been here in the Gulf Coast a few times and we appreciate that. The ones we have not seen until today are the BP Execs themselves. I'm wondering when they are going to come and meet the people face to face and be the real men they claim to be. I'd like any one of them to sit there and tell my girl face to face that everything will be OK and they'll fix it. That she'll eat today. For them to come to the local ball fields and talk to the kids to reassure them and help dry their tears. Mr. President; I believe that if you can do that then you will TRULY be worthy of the title of President. I thank you for your time and hopefully await your reply.
SINCERELY
A GULF COAST RESIDENT :usaflag:

Thanks for posting. Hope you come by again.

God bless.

Welcome Barker and I don't know if you are a believer in Christ Jesus or not, but by putting your faith in Him and allowing Him through prayer to work in your and your family's lives by praying in complete trust that He hears and will answer! Without Him, we don't know how to trust or lean on Him, but with Him we have the comfort, peace and assurance that He will and does meet our needs! I feel really bad about yours and all the Gulf residents about the Oil Spill and job losses and I certainly will be praying that God in Jesus' name will move upon the hearts of mankind and change the situation that those harmed by the BP Oil Spill for a much better life going forward in the hope and faith Jesus gives to each who ask and seek!

I know what it is to be poor and also mediocre in money provisions but I know the protection and care I'm given, since knowing Jesus as my own personal Savior, even though I still go through hard and lean times, I know that He is there helping me to endure and overcome the trials in life! Take courage that people do care and whether BO cares are not is a guess, but, hopefully, BP will pay up and the pres will get the money to where and whom it belongs and not more money in the politicians pockets! Be encouraged in knowing Jesus loves and cares for you and will not leave nor forsake you by your loving, obeying and serving Him! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hi Folks; Thank you all for your kindness.I wanted to clarify and explain a few things about it. ok. The First thing is that the Letter is a SUPPOSED or TEST Letter that I intend to write to the White House.I wanted to wait and see what kind of response I got either Pro or Con.SECOND : I do NOT live in the Gulf Coast. I wrote as though I was due to the fact that my heart goes out to all of you that do live there. THIRD : I received nothing from anyone except compliments. That tells me I was right in writing that Letter. Before I Posted it I used the term "SUPPOSED" in the Headline.I tried to make sure people understood it was not an actual First hand letter although a lot of People missed that part.I don't mind. I just want to make sure people understand that now.
The reason I wrote that Letter is because I've bee sitting here watching the News just like you.The thing I noticed in blaring fashion is the total lack of understanding on behalf of all the Leaders involved including the President in regards to the actual impact that this is having not only on the Environment and Businesses but more importantly the depth to which this Disaster has and is utterly destroying not only Families but the Children as well. I live in Boston area, I'm Christian, have a girl 14 and I'm a Coast Guardsman. I've been sitting here listening to my girl talking about the Oil Spill and asking how are those kids going to play ball or go swimming or "If their families move out what happens to the friends they have now???" As the old saying goes, Out of the mouth of babes.!!!!! These questions just tore me up. I still have not heard a single word from any Leader Apologizing to the kids or giving them some form of comfort. They are our next Generation. They will inherit this mess. They are in essence being robbed of their childhood and in some cases their Innocence. I being HUMAN can take only so much despite how hard I may pray. I wrote that Letter as a TEST or rough draft in preparing for the Actual Letter I fully plan to send. The Bible says that there is one Unforgivable Sin; To GRIEVE the Holy Spirit. and do NOT grieve the children. For little ones such as these have Angels in Heaven that see the Face of My Father DAILY. It has been 59 days now and no one has mentioned the kids. I could take no more. It is with this said that I wish to thank all of you for your responses. That I assure you that I will be sending that Letter to the Leaders.
In the meantime play with your kids and talk to them. Most importantly listen to what their saying. It may just shock you ok. Until later May God Bless You All And Yours. PEACE:RONB :usaflag:

Thanks for explaining your letter Ron and I do understand, as I was a poor child at one time and it was difficult being raised on a farm, as the work was hard and sometimes the only food we had was Mush made out of cornmeal and sometimes fried in patties! Most of the time we had food of some kind or another but not a balanced one, as food only is there in seasons when farming and preparing for the Winter by gardening in the Summer and harvesting in the Fall, fishing and butchering of hogs and not often cattle...but had beef occassionally!

The gov't hands out free food and housing to the immigrants, legal and illegal, so those who're affected by the Oil Spill need to get together and send some of their good, brave men and women to the Whitle House and into Congress to speak for themselves....just like those who come over here have organizations that speak for them! Our citizens should have more clout than they do but our Gov't rules and regulatons in giving out the taxpayers hard earned money are not fair, because life isn't fair, but God always is; therefore, we must put our trust, hope and faith in Jesus and know everything will turn out in the end! God is King and no other overrules Him, be they kings, queens, dictators or Congress men & women...not even Presidents will overrule God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hi Ma Betty; To me, after reading your Post seems like Christ has made you very rich in heart indeed. May God Bless You And Yours. PEACE:RONB

Thanks Baker and, yes, I am rich in the love of God Who provides and protects me and has many times even when I wan't serving Him like I should! He got my attention in ways that were hard trials, but I Praise God and Thank Jesus, for it now! I have come along way in Christ Jesus and in the knowledge of God's written word which is Jesus, Who is the Living Word! Still have trials and heartaches from troubles and problems in the family and the world but His joy is my strength to continue on serving my Lord and Savior by enduring and overcoming all things! Trust in the Lord and He will renew our strength and uplift us Spiritually in His goodness and with many blessings! Amen! Ma Betty
