Anyone made a large coil for the SMPI?
I was thinking 14-15ins to cover more area and a bit more depth a friend of mine makes custom coils for SDs and said he could make any size I wanted??

Chris
(thanx franko)

I happen to know the designer personally. I had asked him for a bigger loop but he told me that the circuit is tuned to the 950 loop. So he does not recommend a bigger loop.

Hi Terry and Kris,
There is no reason that I can see, why a larger loop could not be used with a SMPI. As long as it has the same inductance and resistance as the 950 coil, then you could go up to 15in OK.

Hi, which are the diferences between Surfmaster PI and PI Pro, one substitute the other (upgrade)?

There the same detector. The Pro was up graded in performance.

Hi, thanks, can you tell some details about the performance ?
