Sweet Tesoro Cortes For Sale

Mike Hillis

Well-known member
Well, the weather is starting to clear and I have a hankering to get a rich field telescope and a binoviewer, so I'm selling some detectors to fund it.

This is probably the sweetest condition Tesoro Cortes you will ever see outside a un-opened box. Lovely knobs and switches and display with no rust or discoloration. Has the normal marks where the rods connect and the normal white stress marks on the battery door hinges. Coil has never been used without a cover.

This one has a full modulated audio, hot on high conductors as well as low conductors. 40 points of discimination between iron and nickel. Just an excellent machine both condition wise and performance wise.

Tesoro Cortes, stock coil and cover, operator manual.
$475 shipped via Fed Ex Ground. USPS Money Order or Paypal (we split paypal fees)

Thanks,
Mike

The Cortes is a very good machine it should sell quickly for that price. I have been using one for over a year and it is very good at finding coins and if you sweep over silver it will let you know loud and clear.

Mike when you say full modulated audio, are you saying the stock Cortes doesn't have modulated audio?

I got my first Cortes in 2004 and it was my primary detector for over 6 months (thats a long time for me). I remember it being a more saturated audio and once it got to the end of it's audio range, that was it. I remember the other 2 Cortes units I've owned since then to be the same way (its been about 2 or 3 years since I had one prior to this last one and they were all older units). This one is different. I assume Tesoro is tweaking them as the years go by. This one has a modulated audio. It just eventually trails off when it reaches the end of its ability to dectect the target.

It is a great machine, a real keeper. I'm nuts for not keeping it cause I've always liked them. But when you got the hots for a particular telescope and selling off your metal detectors is the way you have chosen to fund the purchase, you make hard, sometimes regrettable, decisions. This particular buy is costing me a AT Pro, an Xterra, and a Cortes.

I will, however, consider a Tesoro Golden Micro Max as partial trade. The old standard toned model, not the new toned model.
