T-2 sweep speed?

Steve(MS)

New member
Hi, just wondering what T-2 works best with, how does it tolerate different sweep speeds, slow to fast sweep speeds, give me the lowdown on it. Thanks,
Steve(MS)

Hi Steve,

My experience is, it doesn't matter as much as with some other machines. But a bit faster sweep speed gives more depth. You don't have to "whip" it, but an increase should give you a bit more. In general a nice medium speed probably will work best for your "typical" area.

Sweep speed on the t2 is a little faster than normal.I would say its forgiving on the speed up to about 6-7 inches then the quicker speed is needed for the deeper stuff. it will also go alot deeper than it will id.one of the nice things I've noticed if it cant get a good id on the deep targets it just stays blank.some may say different but on a target the size of a minnie ball .58 caliber at say 12-13 inches or more it wont id it until you get some dirt out of the way.I've noticed whipping it over the hole will start to bring a target up into id zone.I have'nt seen a deep good target id as iron yet.But for the most part a moderate swing works fine.Truly the top pick for deep relics in the brass range.Get some time on the machine and it will amaze you in the trash or in the open fields a very versatile machine that has easily in less than a month replaced my old field proven favorites.[out does my deep hunter and my trash hunter with relative ease]

All metal is a world all its own on this machine best I've experinced.it's way deep.

Great posts guys. I'll chime in and add that I often sweep it slow on the shallower stuff. Doesn't seem to bother it much, but for more consistent ID'ing you need to speed it up.

Thanks for the comments regarding quicker sweep speed for deeper targets. I think you just helped me break a bad habit I might have been developing on occasion.

I've only had problems with Db mode ID'ing deeper than 6" or so, depending on the sensitivity.
