T2 camo tone processer question

Low-Boy/LCPM

Active member
My friend got a new T2 camo painted detector today. Everything looks the way it should. It has its tones 1-4 and then DP and then BC BP and CL but on tones 1-4 what processer is it using? And on BP does it only use two tone? On the LTD you can select the tone you want and then the processer you want. Dose the T2 work that way? And how can you tell if it is a phony I read a few months that some of the T2 were copies?

Low-Boy, if I understand your post, it reduces to two questions.

1. Does your friend's T2 LTD do what a supposedly legit T2 LTD does?

2. Is it a Chinese fake?

I'll leave it to the experienced forum denizens to go through the details of what a supposedly legit T2 LTD does.

Then there's that question of "Chinese fakes". We have been told they exist. Obviously on Alibaba somebody wants them to exist! But our repeated attempts to acquire a physical copy of a knockoff (with reward money) have led to zilch. My personal opinion (and that's all it is) is that no credible-by-any-USA-standard T2 fakes have ever been actually produced. Can't rule out the possibility there is a fake that could never fool anyone in the USA being trickled into 3rd world countries to rip off unsuspecting customers there.

BOILERPLATE: Counterfeits of functional products are fraud in the worst sense of that word, because the function itself is almost never there. There are legit manufacturers in this business, and we happen to know for fact that counterfeiters and knockoff artists also exist (although we're not so sure about T2's specifically). If you believe you have in your possession a counterfeit metal detector, or believe you can easily get your hands on a counterfeit metal detector that is reported to have already been produced please contact the legitimate manufacturer of the model you believe has been counterfeited with your information, whether it is us or one of our competitors. If the supposed counterfeit product is for real and is one not already known to the manufacturer, you can expect some quick response. Honest competition is fair dinkum but counterfeiting is a criminal offense because it is a form of fraud against both the legit manufacturer and against the end customer.
