T2 classic-upgrade?

I have the new T2 classic. My question is can I send it back to First Texas and get it upgraded to a se Ltd? Thanks

My everyday use T2 is still the original green one and not even the latest 'classic' version,i personally could never see any real advantage on getting a upgrade,it does everything that i want from a detector and more on my sites, its never even missed a beat and its had 1000s of hours of use and all i use are just 4 coils 5'' Sharpshooter,Nel Storm and the SEF15x12.

I detect mainly on pasture and ploughed and rolled sites and away from most EMI,so the main advantage for upgrading maybe if you detect in locations that have alot of EMI issues.

Only complaint i have had about the T2 is the stock coil, although the coil is OK i guess its the coil connector plug that was a el-cheapo one that let the quality of the detector down.

I don't think they do that update to the T2 Classic.

They did have an upgrade program for the original T2's but it ended at the end of March.

They might offer it again one day but I know a few that have the original T2 and they seem to go deep, do everything they can ask for and are very happy without any upgrades.

I believe the newest T2 classic that you probably have is a slightly upgraded model over the original version with DST and a few other nice features already on-board so there is probably not going to be a program for that one.

From the classic literature...
"These T2 Green models are the Newest Versions for 2016 with improved software performance that will handle EMI interference better than the previous models!"

Are happy with the New release original version better than the se model your inquiring about.

The classic may do everything that you need it to do, but I am a cache Hunter 99% of the time. I am looking for the absolute best Dept that I can get in All Metal mode. Without going to the two box detectors. I have tried them don't like them very much.

I totally agree with what you are saying, but for a everday machine the T2 does me fine,i can understand your quest for depth as you are a cache hunter,i am mainly a hoard hunter here in the UK,if i want too go ultimate depth after a pot hoard and i suspect its deeper that what a T2 will go even with a large coil, then i bring the heavy guns out too play the Nexus with dual 9'' coil or if i want ultimate depth then i use my TDI Pro PI with the 20'' Mono coil, running the TDI in straight PI mode can and will give you insane depths..

So basically cache and hoard hunting are the same,so it all boils down i guess too using the right tool for the job.

You want extra depth get a NEL Big coil for your T2 Classic and run it in all metal from what I've read these coils are DEEP seekers.

@88junior,you are correct,i also use a BIG Nell coil all 15''x17'' inches of it,can only swing swing it for long periods of time using a full GPX harness,it is very deep but not the best coil for small items say like single coin size, also another problem that one can encounter is 'nulling' when 2 different items are under the coil at the same time on a busy site of ferrous and non ferrous materials,so best used on clean open pasture sites or deep ploughed and rolled.

Will be using the BIG Nel and also the Nexus this sunday on roman pasture site.

The LTD has Boost mode, which you really only need for tall grass stubble type hunting, where you cannot keep the coil near the ground.

Don't feel bad that it can not be upgraded. The T2 Classic is like a T2 SE LTD without the boost and cache modes.

The boost and cache mode only make sense, when the ground is mild (low Fe3O4 readings). If you use Boost or Cache on ground with high Fe3O4 content, is is like driving with high beam in fog.

Here is a tip for more depth on the T2 Classic.

Run disc at 0 or 1 (1 makes it more stable) and sens as high as possible. Use 3 Tones. (dP Tones seems to lessen the depth.)
