T2 coil cover????

Bill M

New member
I just bought the new T2 with the coil cover, went to take it off to clean my coil and having issues. Is there a secret to taking the cover off the coil. I'm scared I'm going to break something getting it off. It I definitely a tight fit.

Hope someone comes up with the answer to this as I have the same problem, tried a couple of times but like you thought something would break. I should have just sealed the edge with silicone from the start.

Well, that looks simple enough with a new/clean coil cover.----Little different story when you get dirt/sand/moisture between the cover & coil (somewhat "sealing" it).-----Maybe those new covers with the tabs are easier to get off without cracking them than the old style covers after heavy use---I hope so.

Must admit i never use a coil cover for 99% of my coils, the only one i do use on is my Deus and that is mainly due to the high price of having the electronic in the coil, have never worn out a coil yet doing it this way.

Of course some folks would say that i am not keeping my coil close to the ground, rest assured i do all the time its just that i am ultra careful i guess, must admit the one coil that did worry me about possibly wearing through the plastic was the Hotshot coil as the coil case is made of slightly thinner plastic but once again that is still perfect without any problem, but i di have a new backup of that coil.

One possibility is using butter knives to take the cover off and then when putting the coil cover back on again try warming it in warmish water so that its more flexible, just a though.

i just bought a T2 but havent tried to take the coil cover off of it yet,i just found the video on youtube this morning and i reall dont know if it will work or not,but where i live you have to use the coil cover because of the rocks and trees.
