T2 coin finds

Dick from NC

New member
Yesterday was the first real test for coin hunting since I got the T2. I've been mainly relic hunting, so I got the ok to hunt a local burger hangout dating back to the 50's and 60's. It was open as a beer joint for a while also. I had a couple of hours so I wanted to see how well the T2 worked in a real trashy area, also a hard hard ground. I set sens. at 50, because I was right under a good size power line, disc. 80, and mode 2+. I only dug signals that sounded as I circled around the target. I did dig a handful of bottle caps, but other than that and some copper tubing, pretty much all coins. 7 quarters,7 dimes, 26 memorial pennies and 14 Wheaties, and 1 nickel, and that was discriminated out, but I saw it on top of the ground. No silver but I know there is some there. I know the T2 will sniff it out. I'll be making regular trips across town until I clean it out.

Hi Dick, have found a lot off silver comes in from discrim at 75 upwards, why not try at your other settings first then give it a go with a bit less discrim ,these 2 silver coins from about 1700, a William 111 shilling and sixpence came in at 78 and 79.on Sundays outing .at 80 discrim no sound on the sixpence discrimed out .
cheers John

Nice silver JM. Each time I go back I'll lower my disc. and gradually get alot of the trash out. I was told years ago that a guy had given his girl friend a diamond ring. Well they broke up while they were at the "Hub", the place were the coins came from, he was in a convertible and threw the ring into the woods. So there is a diamond ring out there some where. Kind of keeps you focused.
