T2 & F75 Lower Stem repair

Youngted

New member
Two days ago the plastic section of the lower stem of my T2 sheared off ### After some thought back at home I removed the metal section from the machine held it in a vice with a protective sheath to avoid damage to the stem. Then drilled a pilot hole to take a no 8 screw. This was screwed into the pilot hole then the head sawn off . Taking the plastic end part of the stem. I drilled a hole larger than the shank of the screw. Using apoxy resin i.e. Aradite I placed the mixed glue into both ends of the shaft making sure the glue was inside of the hole where the screw would enter into_Once done I allowed the glue to set then fitted a metal pipe clip 13mm.20mm in size over the joint . This would stop any flexing of the glued joint. I tested it out today 8/5/2010 stayed intact.
By fitting a pipe clip to a non damaged stem may well stop it flexing and breaking in the first place.

thE REPAIR ABOVE IS STILL HOLDING UP AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF SEARCHING.TECNEIKS HAVE UPGRADED THE STEM TO AN ALL IN ONE PEICE PLASTIC JOB
