T2+ ground balance issues

My machine is acting up, it doesn't want to ground balance automatically. I push the toggle switch forward and pump the coil and the machine just reads 90 (factory setting). It will eventually ground balance after about a minute and I can also manually ground balance it. Just wondering if any of you have had this problem and if so what did you do about it. I had a problem with the Nel Tornado when I first got it. I was advised to bob the coil higher above the ground and that seemed to fix it. Sometimes my T2 seemed erratic when I took it from a warm house into very cold weather. I hope that helps.
