T2 hits some Spanish Silver

I hunted a pounded, iron loaded site with the T2 yesterday. You can't let the big coil, or a little chatter intimidate you. I have been over this spot with all my other detectors, but thusfar had missed this.......

It's a 1799 silver Spanish half-reale...
Tiny, thin, & hard to find with any detector.
I know there has been some talk questioning if the T2's higher frequency is good on silver.
I feel the super sensitivity to tiny items compensates well. I have found this & a tiny 3-cent silver so far in a "worked out" site.
I also found some Colonial musketballs playing with the all metal mode...

Hi Bill!..........Well done. great find, also the lead items etc.

Just don't let the guys who are moaning about the T2 being something less than the new F75, put a damper on your obvious success and enjoyment..........The T2 will ALWAYS be a great machine, and treasured by those who appreciate being there first with it.

Evolution is fairly predictable, especially in a detector as good as the T2. I reckon if you put 2 guys in the same field. one with a T2 and the other with an F75, there will be little difference in finds rate if the targets were evenly distributed about that field.

IMO, the main difference would mostly be related to the skill of the user.

So T2 owner...carry on enjoying your 'first born'.

At least you know what you have, don't hanker after what you've not yet tried.

You should still be able to sell your T2 at a fair price if the new one is worth the difference........MattR.UK.

Matt,

I respect your opinion. Do you actually own a T2? If so, how much time do you have on it?

I am looking for encouragement as I came withing a whisker of selling my new T2 after about 6 hours use. The reason being that I could not detect a planted dime at 6" (I understand the pitfalls of testing freshly planted coins). Now that I have a few more hours on it, my opinion is changing and I actually dug a 1914 wheat at 6" last week. How deep are you actually digging coins (loaded question, but has some validity)? By the way, All my hunting has been over areas extensively searched by Explorers.

Glenn
