I have been metal detecting for nearly 19 years.Used practically all makes. For me,the t2 is the best detector I have ever used. Its very deep, fast recovery(but I prefer the slower sweep speed),& it really can filter through iron contamination.I prefer settings 2+/ sens=(as high as possible/& disc at 10.I have encountered problems, but found these to be mainly due to damp mineralisation getting behind the coil cover.Sends it erratic.(The cover could have been a much tighter fitting.)Anyway it performs better in damp soil, since I removed the cover!,& used black insulating tape over the coil itself. Its a lot quieter. Had some play on the handle, but remedied that with some cloth wadding. Now its solid. As for balance & light weight, its superb.("its a blessing compared to early days of detecting,swinging...arados,metadecs,promets.(they were fantastic but weighed a ton!!!)All machines have cosmetic build quality faults...big deal!...there is no perfect detector. One of the many praises of the t2 to me,is its ability to find objects from tiny non ferrous upto the larger end of the scale.& its see through capabilities are amazing.
A true winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you, the T2 is the best Metal Detector I have used in heavy littered iron. I have been hunting a old home stead with two other detectors and have gone back over this small lawn with the T2 and every time I hunt it I find a Keeper in the midst of IRON Nails. To day I got three nice coins, one I don't know what it is, its dated 1897 and has a 2 in the middle on one side with a flower wreath and on the other side it has very detailed feathers and what seems to be a small crown and shield. VF condition. The more I learn what it is telling me the more I'm finding. I don't miss the sore arm and shoulder after hunting all day.

D Wes, there is a 2 cent piece that is bronze but they were minted from 1864 to 1873. Unless its a foreign coin. Post a picture if you can and maybe someone can ID it.
