t2 se dst with 5" coil

The t2 with the 5" coil in iron fested areas, I think is the way to go, I would like someone who uses the 5" coil to let me know which mode they like best and why. I'm always using the cl mode but have to work very slow. I'm always wanting to find a better way to use my t2 se dst with the 5" coil. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Glad to see someone else with the T2SE DST. I have the 5" as well as the stock coil and a NEL Sharpshooter. I like the Sharpshooter so much that I haven't had the 5" out for a test drive yet. Don't know if this helps much but I run the Sharpshooter at default sensitivity, 0-10 descrimination and 3 tones. I hunt a lot of parks and like the high tone provided in 3 tone for nickels. I have always made it a point to especially learn the nickel range on any machine I have owned. With the settings I use, the T2 TID is accurate on nickels to the 4-5" depth range. The high tone that the 3 tone setting gives me in the nickel range still helps find deeper nickels but unfortunately finds small bits of foil and the infamous pull tabs along with nickels. A gold ring could sneak in there too, which would be fine with me.
I have read nothing but good things about the 5" coil and its impressive TID and depth. I will have to throw the 5" coil on and hunt some of the really trash-infested areas of the parks I hunt.

I would agree with what the above forum member has mentioned,i use the 5'' coil mainly for when the crops come off and the stubble wont allow any other coil close to the ground than what a 5'' coil will allow, its the best coil for that job and also of course in real junky site conditions in my case say like roman/saxon sites that have alot of iron and other trash.

The main coil i use is the NEL Sharpshooter coil, that is on my T2 most of the time and rarely comes off,but for deeper targets then i use NEL Storm coil which does punch pretty deep but still also likes small targets as well.

Going back to the 5'' coil for its size it goes reasonable deep, its as light as a feather to swing and not many coils come close to it in really iron infested sites and you can still pick some really decent targets out from in between the iron.
