T2 SE Ground Balance

ABKen

New member
Just got new one and am reading the manual. The Grab automatically finds the proper balance point, but it does not track and automatically adjust GB. Am I understanding that correctly?

That's correct. It's not a big deal to check and re-balance from time to time to make sure it's balanced correctly.

Well done on getting your new machine,as a baseline i would be advisable to start out using 75sens,10disc,2+ dig everything all solid signals over 40 but if the signal bounces say from 80-50 is odds on favourite it will be iron.

Of course its only a starting point and once you get the hang of the T2 you can alter the setting to how you like detecting, but dont crank the sensitivity up ultra high straight away as it can become very erratic and you could feel end up like throwing it in the bin.

I would suggest GB as often as possible within reason as Tabman states in his post. It only takes a second and there are some dramatic changes in ground in many areas within just a 50 foot span.

One reason you may not GB at all is if your in heavy trash and can't find clear ground.. factory setting of 90 is better than a really bad GB over junk items..... It will work pretty good at the 90 default setting.....

Some good advice here. I re-ground mine at least a few times while out in the woods.

One way to check it quickly is to hold the coil off the ground & pinpoint the ground. You have to make sure your not over anything metal first though. If it goes quiet or has a positive sound it needs ground ballenced. There should be no difference in the threshold volume when taking the coil to the ground. Good luck & HH
