T2 Strikes Silver again

Youngted

New member
This last week my T6 series 6 has out performed a much higher priced machine. Four silver Medieval coins. THe first an Ango Saxon Sceat A.D.640- 741 The others a cut halfpenny plus two pennies these are not too good in condition though.

Nice finds, well done.
I am just about to take delivery of a T2 after using a GMP. Do you have any basic tips for starting out please. I think that my best starting settings are in the region on sens-70/75, tone 2+, discrim 15/20.
Any pointer would be most welcome.
Thanks
Paul

That does not surprise me . The T2 is a very capable and deep detector..one of the best coin detectors made.

Your settings are about right you will not go far wrong with them I use the ground grab to cancel any ground effect. Just hold the trigger forward and lower the machine slowly to the ground until it stays stable. Then off you go. The golden rule is LOW & SLOW don't go wizzing over the field trying to cover it all in one day. You will miss stuff. On arable land I go for half signals on a good site it can be a small coin. When you get what seems to be a pos signal go over it again from a different Angle if it farts then its iron. But its good to check from time to time to build confidence in the machine. Its a good one. See my post on this forum regarding SEF coils also my repair when the bottom stem bust. !! Be careful not to knock the small button on the tront of the machine if you do you may find that the settings chage. Its best as a new comer to check this from time to time. If the machine goes to no 1 you will be digging iron.
