t2 visual id chart?

Anybody ever seen one, maybe put some heads together and make one?The manual doesn't go to far out on the limb with id numbers of different targets,i don't know what old copper coins ,different size gold coins, micro-gold jewelry to large gold rings would id at?

by US manufacturers to appeal to the common coin shooter by providing typical TID references (words at first and VDI numbers later) for the most commonly found coin targets. Generally, a "proper" TID from a flat-positioned coin is rather tight due to the round shape, consistent thickness, and uniform alloy content, and will usually be 'off' only due to target masking or ground mineralization issues.

The T[sup]2[/sup] provides adequate TID reference for common coins, especially since I don't consider it to be intended mainly for coin-shooting tasks. To me, the T[sup]2[/sup] is, and always has been, geared towards the avid detectorists and devoted relic hunter. By that, I mean the icon TID is adequate for the casual coin hunting task where coins are usually shallow and isolated enough to take advantage of it, and the numeric VDI works fine, but most users they are listening for an audio response and will investigate (recover) anything that is non-iron.

COMMON coins are what most manufacturers will list, as a rule, because, as stated, TID was developed for the common, average, typical coin hunter. The ones who are after coins, mainly modern coins that will be located rather shallow (4" or less) and they intend to recover only coins and not trash. Keep in mind that visual TID is simply an added form of discrimination, and "discrimination" is just that. A method by which we can discriminate between desired and not-desired targets. Hobbyists, whether they get out fairly often or are just go detecting on rare occasion, do so because they are looking for coins, and most of the hobby-users prefer NOT to dig pull tabs and foil and other common trash.

Therefore, they show common US coins. In the mid-to-late '80s they had to modify i a little to add an extra 1

wow Monte thanks for the knowledge i started a year ago with a compadre now have t2 i know you have to listen to your ears first, to be able to use your eyes, after 4 months with compadre i thought i was an expert wanted a vdi machine and bought a t2! Boy was i in for a surprise big learning curve especially with the big dd coil with pinpoint but after 6 months i love the t2 and feel confident with it.Tried just watching the numbers boy that will make you dizzy, its still all about the good 4-way beep. All that being said i still would like to have a chart to cross reference and study i copied the whites chart and filling it in has i go? I have found 1 Indian head which i think had a 80-83 id ,pretty much like a wheat penny, 4 Mercury's ,2 Rosie dimes all 89 id,have not found any silver quarters yet a couple of 1965 quarters hit 91 id and a clad quarter and a memorial penny sandwiched together hit 91 on id go figure 1 of these days one of those 90 and above numbers is going to bee something sweet! Is it the different range of acceptance of machines that make them id different or something else? Sure would be nice if they were all the same thanks again Monte happy hunting grounds 2all^

My indians come in at low 70's, zincs at 78, dimes 83-84, and quarters at 88-89. Once in a great while I will get those coins at slightly lower readings. I figure that is due to the coins orientation in the dirt. Are you talking about all Metal mode or discrimination mode?

Quite a bit of difference between the two other than just the visual display information. I actually find the T[sup]2[/sup] to be more comfortable with similar-sized coils. If the Compadre had a larger coil mounted to compete with the 11" Bi-Axial DD, then, like all the

hi Dave i use 80- max sens, 21 disc ,1tone mostly sometimes a 55 disc and 3tone, i didn't know it was a Indian head till i got home and cleaned it I'll have 2 recheck that again, all the Wheaties do id at 79-83 same for you? i use mostly disc mode in the trashy areas i search, tried the all metal several times all i dig is deep trash i need more experience in all metal mode?

i got the fever bad usually go everyday after work more on weekend,i was waffling on couple of different brands and while waffling mad money started drying up so i bought the compadre glad i did, lifetime warranty ,1 button simplicity, perfect for someone like me who is not as smart sometimes has i think i am lol. Thought id be diggin silver and gold every other day man was i wrong and in for a lesson, my dad said i probably wasn't reaching deep enough after buying t2 i know he is both right and wrong depth may be problem sometimes but wow there's a lot of trash out there masking and silent masking?

why would you hunt in one tone in disc. thast allows for iron signals but 3 tone with the iron eliminated. thanks.

hey chuck in canetucky Ive been told that run sens max or has hot as you can run disc 21 with a mandatory 1 tone is a boost mode with the best iron see through ability if i think there is a lot of nails especially old square nails i run that and hear most everything/if my ears and head get tired i run the other, i guess i like the 1 tone gives the best feel of a target i am open to all constructive criticism and tips? anybody got any gum?P.S. where you live in Kentucky i used 2 live in aurora by KY lake?

i'm in owensboro right on the ohio river. i knew about the boost around 50 disc. but not about 21 may try it. thanks.

You less experienced detectorists who go solely by the TID numbers should pay close attention to Monty's words of wisdom!
