Arrived this morning! Did a few air tests on a nickle at various depths. Hit good at 15" in both A.M. and in BP. Sens. @ 99 0 disc. Got a tiny audible @ 17 to 18". Reduced sens. to 70, hardly any change. Sens. @ 50 it still hit at 12". This is by no means an indicator of actual depth in the field. Took it out in the front yard and it ran surprisingly quiet in A.M. and disc. with power lines nearby. Will put it to the test this weekend. Forgot to add, this was done in the DST. Robert

how do you get to the dst. i would have thought this was in the same setting range as the bp. if so i wouldn't think you could hunt in dst and bp at the same time.all-metal and dst or bp would be possible. thanks

On the initial start up, the DST is on. You can turn it off by pushing the menu button, toggle switch forward, at the same time of course, turn detector on, rotate settings knob clockwise. This will turn the DST off. It will save the setting even after the detector is shut off and turned back on. Same process to turn DST back on, counter clockwise on the settings knob, though. I don't think FT would have added DST if you couldn't hunt in BP or AM.

thanks for your reply. i thought this would probably be on the same function as the bp mode but after reading the new manual on another forum i found out its by itself.
