Does the T2 and T2 LTD have the same discrimination quirks as the F75? What I mean is on the F75 the gain is boosted at different levels of discrimination
. Is the T2 set up the same way or is it like most detectors?

Thanks for any input.

Kurt

The boost on the T2 works the same was as on the F75 but I believe that since the target ID and discrimination numbers are different on the T2 and F75 (the T2 has more numbers in the iron range) that the boost numbers are different too. However some folks believe them to be the same numbers as on the F75.

Personally, I run the discrim on my T2 at the default of 10 and don't worry about too much as the glaciers from the last ice age 12,000 years ago scraped all the top soil away from here and in most places it has only built up to be 12 to 14 inches deep and the T2 seems to be able to go that deep with the discrim at 10. The glacial till is too hard packed to let targets sink into it so I don't have to worry about going deeper than that. It is a distinctly different color and consistency than the top soil so it is easy to tell when you have dug into it.

The T2 LTD has a manual boost mode but they say that is different from the boost in the regular T2.

It would be interesting if Dave Johnson could post as to exactly what these difference are.

5 and below and 50 and above.

Just purchased a new T2 LTD. Any recommendations for using it in Civil War relic sites. I tried it in my backyard and this machine came alive with targets. My "other" machine didn't even come close. I appreciate your help.

The T2 has a boost at 0 disc..Im not sure if you have to be in 2+ mode but thats the only mode i ever use..
Works out well for me.Try learning 0 discrimination. They also say there is a boost at 51 disc...

I also wanted to ad that i do not use headphones.
I believe this helps me hunt in 0 disc because it can get chattery a bit.
I would suggest if you are in an area that you want maximum depth run 0 disc sens 95 or 99 2+mode...99 can start throwing false readings
.And dont wear your headphones..
You definately should use these settings in the woods when there is not much trash...
