t2s strengths and weaknesses????

please list the t2s strenghts and weaknesses.

asked this question on the minelab x70 forum about the x70 and i got 5 or6 replys.trying to decide between the x70 and the t2.

Hello seeker,

I seen your other post on the Terra forum, It appears you're trying to decide which detector to go with. Nothing wrong with that especially when both detectors are good and it's hard to decide which one to go with.

It would depend what type of detecting you prefer, Both are good relic detectors, good coin detectors and both have the capability of finding gold nuggets.

I myself see the T-2 as being the better detector for my hunting needs "relic," This will vary depending on the user because not all users use detectors for the same reason.

Out in the field, The T-2 has a faster recovery speed which is to the users advantage when searching older areas laced with iron. The signals JUMP out even when it's a piece of a weak signal masked by iron, With the Terra X-70 the signal won't jump out. If you're going to search older areas especially when the site is full of old iron you want a detector capable of peeking between the iron and capable of alerting you instantly.

Very user friendly too, Ground balance has a loud audio which helps the user quickly do a proper ground balance with the fast grab, The T-2 does it for you. The X-70 audio is weak and it's differcult to hear the positive and negative to quickly conduct a proper GB, The T-2 has a much stronger audio.

I guess the only weakness I see, The T-2 needs a smaller coil for searching in tighter areas. Separation is not a problem but I can see a need for a smaller coil when searching areas the larger coil can not fit into, I also believe a smaller coil is needed for gold nugget hunting due to the rocky terrain to enhance the signal of smaller size gold nuggets hidden in areas the larger coil can not enter into.

I have the SE Minelab and the T2 ,both have there place, minelab for beach and sandy ground and coke infested ground ,the T2 does every thing else. for me in the UK.

I had the X-Terra 70 and about two coils and I didn't like it. No fun factor. I have a few other detectors that I love. The T2 is a detector that I am still learning but it does a great job in iron. It is fast and can be used in a lot of different ways. At one park I put disc all the way up to about 80 and dug nothing but deep wheat's about seven in one hour and few newer dimes but the wheat's were there and I know some silver is hiding. These targets were found with the T2 and the Fisher CZ3

i am really leaning towared the t2 since it looks like it would be better for the way i hunt. i really like to hunt old homesites, old spots in the woods where homes used to be and parks for old coins.thanks again for your replys.
