T2SE - First Day Out With The NEL Sharpshooter Coil:teknetics:

I got up early this morning so I could try out my new Sharpshooter Coil. Before I finished drinking my coffee and getting dressed the rain set in. Undeterred, I got out a plastic baggie to cover my detector and headed out in hopes that the rain would stop soon. I didn't want to go far, so I went to a park that I said that I would not hunt again because I've hunted it to death. I hit a tot lot and found a little piece of junk jewelry about 7 inches down. I then moved on to the grassy area and found some clad coins and a bunch of nickels. I messed around and got a soft small high tone that sounded round ( that's Tesoro talk) and when I went to pinpoint it indicated it was 10 inches deep. I knew that wasn't right. I dug down around 5 inches deep and found a 1946 Rosie on edge. After couple of hours I decided to go to another park that's close by. I was digging coins left and right at the new location. Most of them were around 7 inches deep or deeper and a lot of them were on edge. I really like this coil a lot. It's deep and easily to swing. About mid field, I got a strong mid tone that sounded small and round. The numbers didn't bounce around and I knew that was a good sign. I dug down around 3 or 4 inches and popped a class ring. It weighs 29.73 grams. My total on the coins: 26 pennies, 17 nickels, 27 dimes, 23 quarters and a silver dime.

I was running the T2SE with 3 tones, 10 discrimination and had the sensitivity set at 92 and running quiet.

I really like this coil a lot. I got a great deal from one of our forum sponsors. Ron at The Gold Metal Diggers.

Do you have plans to return it if possible ???

Not a local school that I know of. I've been doing some goggling to see if I can find out anything about the ring. There's no initials.

Elton if you ever get another T2, make sure you get a NEL Sharpshooter coil. It's awesome! In very short order I'm able to tell the difference between junk and nickels most of the time even if the junk target has the same ID number as a nickel.

Will check to see if they make one for my F75 SE.

Frank, just check on the main dealer over here in the UK and yes they do a NEL Sharpshooter for the F70/75 including all the variations ie SE models.

So i would assume that if you have a NEL dealer in the US they would be able too provide one,or like alot of folks do is get them shipped direct from the makers.

Thanks Jim. You're going to have to get a Sharpshooter for for your F75. It's the cat's meow.

Really nice finds, sounds like you have a keeper in that coil but for myself I just can't stand an elliptical coil. Recon I'm just to used to the ones of my Tesoros.

Ok, I'll bite.

How are you able to tell? Does it sound different? Less stable ID?

I've been wondering how well the sharpshooter/hunter works on the F70/F75.

Nice finds!! I took the NEL HUNTER coil out for today for it's maiden voyage. Ran it in all metal mode. It was a smooth signal and sounded off great on the bullets 8" deep. All were found at or near that depth. I dug the bullets and let my son recover them with the propointer. Thank for looking.

Yeah it's the tone, it's solid and tight and the VDI locks on like a pit bull dog.

I think I know where my next batch of "fun money" is going for.

Too bad the batches are far and few between.
