Taking the F75 LTD to the Gulf Coast Beaches :shrug:..

...... Does anyone have any experiences running the F75 on sandy beaches / near salt water or in the shallow surf edge to include settings, tips, suggestions etc ??? Would appreciate any comments. Thanks. CCHunter.

I was at Gulf shores back in May and ran my LTD on the beaches. Dry sand is no problem. You will probably have to manual ground balance as a gb under 40 requires gb manually. The LTD chatters a lot over wet sand and requires frequent gb. I was able to hunt, though, with a gb of about 16 - 20. I found, however, it was much more pleasant hunting in the dry sand and that was pretty productive. No gold, but did get a piece of silver and a good bit of clad. Mostly quarters and dimes. Have fun and good luck. HH jim tn

Like Jim and bart said manual GB wet sand and shallow hunting.. My add on is.. Turn the Sensitivity down start at 60 and go lower as needed....
You will find deep targets at down to 40.

I can't help you with the F75, but I can suggest some spots if you don't know the area.
PM me if interested.

Where I compared the 11 inch DD and 10 inch concentric coils.

If you search you can find other information on the F75 and F75 LTD at the beach.
Cheers,

Thanks for everyone's comments. Hopefully I can put this to good use in a few weeks. CCHunter

[size=medium]Tony,

I live near the Pensacola area, so there's lots of sand to explore there. Any hot tips on particularly good areas? I'm thinking Pensacola (of course), Casino and Navarre beaches to start. I know Santa Rosa Island has a rich history and would be an excellent place also, but I need to research what permissions I need and where any digging is allowed. By the way, I have a F75 LTD, and I am open to any suggestions or comments from anyone as to what settings worked best for them.

Hey CCH when you headed down there? I'm gonna be down there July 16th-July 22nd. I'm hunting buddy. If you gonna be there in those dates maybe we can get some hunting in.

You will be tempted to use it in the shallow water.....don't do it! Stay in the dry sand as much as possible.

It never fails...either you will drop it in the water and ruin it or a wave will hit you and your detector will become trash real quick.

I lost an F-70 by using it in shallow salt water. Dropped it after a wave hit me and that was it......I even cleaned it out right away and it still did had problems after that.
