she was trying to get out of some program using the Alt-Ctrl-Delete keys and suddenly her whole screen was UPSIDE DOWN. My first thought was a virus. She couldn't use the mouse because left was right and up was down so had to hold down the power button to shut off the computer.
This morning when she turned the computer back on everything was still UPSIDE DOWN.
Luckily we have 2 computer so I could go on line and search for an answer. Found the answer and told her to hold down the Alt-Ctrl-Up Arrow keys. She did and voila the screen was back to normal.
Here's the info:
Upside-Down Display In Windows XP
Within Windows XP, certain video drivers or graphics card chipsets supporting 180 degree screen rotation can cause the Windows XP display to be presented upside down. This can be (but is not always) tied to lowering the screen resolution in some accessibility programs.
To revert to a right-side up display, hold down the CTRL, ALT and UP (arrow) keys.
So I figured using that logic I could flip mine upside down (Sherry and I have the same make and model computer) by doing Alt-Ctrl-Down Arrow and it flipped my screen upside down. Pressing the Alt-Ctrl-Up Arrow put it back to normal.
Now if ya want to mess around and try that out on yours that is up to you. We're looking forward to the next time Casey wants to borrow 'Mom's computer' so Sherry can flip the screen on her
We have Toshiba laptops. If you got it to work on yours what company made your computer? If ya decide not to try this I can understand - if it ain't broke don't break it
er I mean don't fix it
Imagine going to a place like Best Buy and trying that out. Wonder if the Geek Squad would know how to fix it?
Just tried the side arrows and it flips the screen sideways. Just need to Alt-Ctrl-Up Arrow to put it right again.
