Do they make a tall mans rod for the exterra?? If so, what is the difference in length between the stock rod and the tall man's?? Thanks in advance and HH. Bob.

tall man rod for exterras???

As far as I know, they only have a stock rod and a short one. I'm 5'10", and have my stock rod as short as it will go. I can't imagine too many folks would need a longer one.

I think Morelic changed the rod out on his xterra. Might either drop him a pm or wait for him to chime in.

I just got a new 705(I've owned an exterra 30 in the past), and even with the rods shortened as much as they can be, the coil is out in front of me more than I remember(or like). The lower rod is approximately 24 inches long. Thanks for the replies everyone and HH. Bob.
Well, you have 3 choices that I know of. The "Plugger" straight rod http://www.indiannationsdetectors.com/xterrarods.html

My mod which is a straight middle section from a Whites M6 or Classic series. I did discover that the Tesoro middle section is about 3 inches longer so that would help with being taller. Ya must be a tall one, I have another hunting bud that has his Xterra shaft fully extended to hunt with.
You should have your coil about 1 foot in front of your feet when hunting, just enough to not feel like you are hunched over. Also on the heaver 10.5 DD coils, the closer you can hunt to your feet, the better because it helps balance the coil. Mark

I have a tall man rod. When I bought an xterra 50 it had one . And then when I bought my 70 it had a regular one. So I swapped them out. I can not remember how much longer it was . But I like the tall one.

I've seen at least one guy at 6'10'' using an X-Terra with no trouble so the market for a tall rod would seem to be fairly small.
