On the internet, I had read that most platinum rings give you a real low target ID numbers. So I
decided to gather up the platinum rings that I still have and see what the numbers are while doing an air test. While 33 rings are Asian made.There are 2 rings made for the American market. I put a "$" after the target ID number to identify these 2 rings. I was surprised to see that so many platinum rings read so low. Many are down in the tin foil range. All the platinum rings are wedding bands except for one. It as very small and only was 0.8 grams in weight. This ring and 2 others, I could not determine what percentage of pure platinum they are. The weight is in grams ranged from 0.8 grams to 11.4 grams. Ring sizes ranged from 3.5 to 11. I provided this information on the different rings to help give you an idea what I tested. I used the new White's MXT with the 10 inch DD coil to give the target ID reading while in the coin and jewelry mode. On my White
