"Target Stabalizer" on the Xterra 705

D&P-OR

Well-known member
How many of you guys are making use of the target stabilizer feature on the 705?----Have you been using it?----Have you been using it in mineralized ground----high trash----just checking targets----or???----OR have you been using it all the time (or not at all)?-----Sounds like the tones & TID (may) not match all the time.------Just trying to find out how effective you guys are finding this feature to actually be.

TID stabilization is designed to "average out" the visual TID in highly mineralized ground. And, as you said, that stabilized number may not match what we expect for the audio response we get. Although I can see it being of benefit to some, as a guy who "hunts by ear" in multiple tone mode, I seldom turn on TID stabilization. JMHO HH Randy

Can you refresh on wheather it can be on all the time or just after a target has been detected? I usually turn it on iffy targets and it does help here and there. My soil is usually highly mineralized.

By the way you describe your soil, you can run it all the time if you like. In fact, having it on prior to detecting a target might tell you if you want to dig that one or not. HH Randy
