Tax token...

REVIER

Well-known member
Hard to find in this garbage laden soil loaded with iron...but I did.
Not in bad shape considering it is aluminum and has been in the ground for about 60 or 70 years.

Nice find there. I always enjoy digging those up. Here in Washington we had them for awhile. Some were plastic, but most were aluminum. Found like 10 over the years. Ours are dated 1935 on the aluminum ones. Some are really corroded but some come out really nice.

Two weeks ago I found my first Mississippi tax token.
Those people had it together...not crummy, flimsy aluminum like Bama's but actual brass.
That was the right way to do it.
