A construction company brought bulldozers in to the playground and yard areas of one of the oldest school lots in our area. They are renovating the old school and going to reopen it as a charter school. I don't know why they are tearing up the playground and yard too, but I am glad they are. I have pulled out several wheats, with the oldest being 1909. Today I got a 1899 V Nickel on the side of a dirt pile. Then, just before dark, I got a nickel signal at 4 inches where they had already peeled 6 inches of topsoil off around the base of a tree. It turned out to be a 1868 Shield nickel. The first one I have ever gotten that the date could be seen on. It actually is in pretty good shape. The trusty DFX locked dead on nickel on both of em!! Sorry, I am not able to post pics. HH Dan
