Tejon vs Vista RG 750 on Beaches

KVM2

New member
Guy I know in Brooklyn is going to put a DD 5.75 coil on his Tejon to do some beach hunting this Winter..I guess the DD coils work better in the marginal areas..I have an RG 750 Vista from Bulgaria that will out distance the Tejon...Coil is a DD, so I am going to send it out as a loaner for him to use..Two things,, if you have the time, could you look up the 750 and see if there is any info on beach searching...Second, ear phone jack never worked, if someone in Brooklyn could fix it, I'll be happy to pay..Or, man from Brooklyn could drive to Bridgewater to meet Jabbo, and have him repair it..Jabbo went back to Fisher, after selling me his Vaquero, so don't hold that against him,,,,,but he could use a hunting partner.

Hello there KVM2 i own the vista RELIC and Vista Gold and had a rg 1000, here's the deal with rg 1000 i had to put on a big sandwich bag from the wet salt sand and worked good for the most part they are very good machines

On the other hand, maybe the 750 isn't that hot...I grabbed mine for an air test, and a clad quarter was at 11 inches, no phones. Tried the Vaquero and got 9 inches. So, I assume a Tejon falls in the same range as the 750..Only advantage on a beach would be the DD coil vs a 5.75...Had not charged the battery since last Summer..Thinking at least 15 months ago.. Any how, the Vista will be in Brooklyn in November, also doing the Colonial corn fields of Jersey..with a fully charged battery...

KVM, I'm still a Tesoro man, have the Golden uMax yet but rarely look for gold anymore. With settings maxed out in air tests using 8" brown donut coil, gives short beep on IH at 8.5" and silver Qtr. at 9" but the tones drop out after 5.5 or 6" and becomes monotone. My Fisher CoinStrike ID's coins 3" deeper in air but meter and tones often get jumpy on 9" coins in the field. Last Sunday I buried a Zincoln at 10". In All Metal mode it barely detected it, but it wasn't a good enough signal to dig. I always rely on meter reading to minimize digging junk even if I might be walking away from really deep coins. Some day gotta compare it to your Vaquero for depth in the field.
