Teknetics 15" DD coil

I don't see much on teknetics t2 se dst with 15" coil as far as field tests. Has anyone used the 15" coil and what did you think of it?

It may be a good coil, but its also one of the biggest White elephants that Teknetics have bought out,one simple reason is the weight of it,trust me unless you are built like a concrete outhouse you wil have trouble swinging it as its that heavy,if you have a full harness it could be used but boy is it heavy.

They basically must have a fair amount of stock as they are trying to off load them at a cheap price with the T2 upgrade offer,of course this is just my personal view,i do own one as i was given it but would i buy one not in a milllion years.

I am looking at the NEL Hunter and the Storm. I have heard good things about the Hunter and its weight.

When using my T2 for deep work on say a pasture site i use the SEF 15x12 for real deep target and boy is it deep, but my favourate everyday coil the NEL Storm is ticking all my boxes epecially on farmland and pasture, not only is it deep and gives me more ground coverage its also very sensitive to small targets as well.Of course what works for one person may not work for another or the site/s that they detect on.Of course with bigger coils comes the weight issue, but the new Mars coil are very light for the size.

I do own one, have i ever used it 'NO' why because of the weight, its just sits here gathering dust, folks who do actually buy them sell them at a loss that is if they can actually sell them that is.

I'm 73 years old and my height is 5' 11" and weight 165 lbs and can swing the 15" coil on my T2 SE DST for 6 hours straight. I don't have any problem with its weight. Iv'e found a lot of coins in the 12" to 13 " range with it, in the CL mode. I have the whites V3i with the 10" dd coil and it will wear me out in 4 hours. Great Machine but I tend to use the 5.3 inch coil on it most of the time. I can't under stand why everyone has to buy the nell coil?

Too big for my style of hunting. Interestingly, Kelly is selling them discounted for $85. Must be a reason.

Teknetics 15 on sale.

I agree as I'm 56 and have fibromyalgia which is painful and causes me to fatigue quickly
but the 15" coil is not a problem at all,my problem is I need some big areas to hunt,it covers a lot of ground fast.
I bought 2 to have a spare if I should ever sell my old t2 and buy a new version.

I agree with you.I own the 15" DD "boat anchor" and a T2 Classic. I'm 5'8" 64 years old and can swing it all day long. Some of these guys must be a bunch of wimps. For $85.00 you can't beat it for its depth and coverage. Try buying a comparable sized NEL or Cors coil for that price!
