Just found this link http://jb-ms.com/Carlsforum/Sept14-2004/19467.html by doing a Google search you will find some more bits of info if yo try the same.

Hope this helps.

It was an awesome machine in its day. Top of the line 2 filter model.

The Mark 1 was a good machine!
Its overall performance was geared around coins, it was mainly thought of as a coin hunting detector.
The performance in today's standards would still be pretty good.
They, like others of that time period were BIG, HEAVY, Took 14 AA batteries. (hip mounts were VERY common for these machines)
All the older Teknetics (that style) suffered from battery clip problems, Keith Wills at East Texas Detectors still has replacement clips in stock.
As far as depth I would say that it would reach most of the common depths that the turn of the century coins would be found.
They have an anolog meter with no known problems.
The meter displays both depth, and target ID

I at one time did own a Mark 1,
I also owned the Teknetics 9000B (I really like that machine, but they had display problems with the LCD)
I now own a Teknetics 8500B (pretty much the same machine as the 9000 except it has a anolog meter)

Mark

That is a really really fun forum to read. I remember it from way back when. They like to get into "detector talk"....
