Teknetics Omega 8000 for $475

I can get an Omega 8000 for $475 new , in the box..
This seems like a good deal ..Is it??

I'm gonna need to buy headphones and a bag.. and if I want to get extra coils that will add up..
The Kellyco package is $799 with the three coils and all the accessories..

I can also get a used unit with 3 coils for $535...

Is the new one for $475 the way to go ??

I don't know where you're seeing these prices but just be aware that that is definitely quite a bit lower than usual (by $124), as I suspect you already know. My advice would be to make sure the warranty is valid when buying from this party. To insure that, you might want to call FT and ask. I believe (and I might be wrong on this point) the warranty is only valid when a unit is purchased from an official dealer so if the source you're referring to isn't, you might have a potential problem. A little checking up front might save a headache down the road. ;)

yeah.. I know it is a little too good to be true..
and I don't know how they could be so much lower if it isn't a refurbished or a return or something like that..
It is an ebay item.. the seller has 35,000 feedback and a 30 return for exchange if the item is defective..
but still looks a little weird..
I'll check with FT and see if they will honor the warranty for a sealed in the box purchase from this seller.

thanks for the tip

but if I am going to get a bag, headphones, and the extra coils I may as well go the kellyco route or another dealer..
or can these extras be picked up for cheap later on..

Last month I heard of a dealer selling off his remaining inventory at these kind of prices. It seems that he was dropping the Fisher line. Might be the same guy.

J_w73--I personally would look around and not just "buy" from Kellyco necessarily. There are other very very good dealers besides the Mega Giant. You will get better customer service elsewhere...seriously

get the new one!..you'll get a 5 year warranty, and if it breaks, they will fix it for no!
buy a used one,and pay if it breaks!

When I bought my F5, the dealer threw in a free set of $100 Killer B's....so shop around.

Yeah.. I am .. but the $475 for the new teknetics 8000 is still fishy..
The seller is on ebay.. under buyauthorized.. I checked with Teknetics and they couldn't find them in their authorized dealer listings..
They also couldn't give me a definitive answer if it would be covered under warranty..

I also read on the teknetic site about some T2 counterfeits out there.. so that makes me leary of the omega 8000..

they are selling the machine for 549.99 and will accept an offer of $475.. or maybe lower..

check it out on ebay and let me know what you think..

give it a "pass" check out the dealers on this web site!
they will do ya right!

I bid $425 and got it but did not take it as he had the tax hidden (NY state tax)and other charges.
Also look at the face of the omega, are the lines on the face red (domestic) or black-international.

I thought if you make an offer and they accept it then you are suppose to purchase it??

What lines are you talking about..

obolusman,
Are you sure about the red/black line issue ? ....I've seen reputable dealers ads that have pictures of Black lined units .....or is it maybe a newer or older year model that is the case ? .....Thanks, Jim

Anyon buy one from buy authorized --I too placed a $450 bid and it was rejected ??? Also told when I e-mailed them I would have to pay NY sales tax, asked them if they were refurbished they said no--asked about warranty and they said box was sealed ??? Anybody else out there have any dealing with this seller ???

About the warranty if you go down the ad and click under factory warranty they state that they offer a warranty through Squaretrade. They imply that the factory warranty may not be honored because you bought it through e-bay. I think this is added in hopes that you will purchase a Squaretrade warranty because they probably make a little money on the selling of the warranty.

With that said I own a Teknetics Omega 8000 and my warranty card states that my warranty is good to the original buyer for 5 years and does not say anything about the warranty being invalid because of where I may have purchased it. All I need to activate the warranty is to have the original sales receipt.
