Omega owners, if you are coin hunting in a old area try to run your sense and gain high as you can, with a DD coil pay close attention the the double blips and you can find silver standing on end. l I just did, I got a 54 rosy standing on end, my f-70 will do the same, don't you just love DD coils. a Double-D (wide-scan) coil trait. Your concentric wound coils will also double-beep. Canted coins "read" off-center, and "on-edge" coins (if edged and running front-to-read) will "read' on both side, or double-beep. It's due to the effect of the target's absorption of the Tx field and the induced EMF of the object. With a D-D coil you might simply hear some of these a little better. Some makes and models, due to the circuitry design as well as the search coil dynamics, just do not do all that well with coins-on-edge.
