Teknetics T2 and Detech ultimate 13"

Hello, I want to upgrade the stock coil of my new classic T2 with a detech ultimate 13, anyone using it?
I am looking for some extra depth (2/3"), i mostly hunt in open Fields, pastures, ruins, deep coins.
However I don't want to put something bigger than 13" (like detonator, giant etc) as sometimes i may hunt in different sites so I need an "all-round" coil
The ultimate seems to be a perfect coil, only 460 grams but i am not sure i will get that extra depth, another option would be the Cors Strike but it's heavier > 560 grams.
Any suggestion? pro/cons?

thank you!

I have used it in the Etrac and Sovereign. It was my favorite beach coil ever. I think just the weight difference between the 2, even though it is small, would make a difference after a while in the field.

The detech ultimate coil is a very very popular combination not only on the T2 but also many other brands of detector as well, its a golden medium in between the stock coil and say a much larger coil,it is reasonably light for it size,it took over from the popular SEF brand from Detech and still the main current top seller from this company.

But saying that in the last 2 years NEL coils have also become very populat as well and may have taken over the lead from Detech, but we also have a new player in the T2 coil aftermarket and that is the Mars range, these are the current red hot favourite for the T2 and allied Teknetics models like the G2 etc, reason why is not only do they perform possibly better than any other after market coil and also the factory made coils but they are also so much lighter and stronger but still perform much better and improve the performance of the machines no end.

Regarding the Teknetics 15'' coil it maybe a very cheap option and also in theory one would assume it would work bettewr as they are made by the same company,if you just want to use a larger coil for the odd hour or so for the odd deep search on a specific clear site then the Teknetics option is very appealing, but this option although appealing and cheap it does have a massive downside and that is the weight of this coil, folks who have bought this coil due to either a upgrade or a new machine purchase mainly sell them on without even using them as when they come to pick the coil up that then tells them its going on Ebay.

I do own or have used all the coils that i have mentioned above, although i still own my Teknetics 15'' coil i have only ever used it once and that was with a full harness and must admit it was not a joy to use.

I was thinking about the ultimate because it's light and not so big, i want just to be sure that i will get that extra 2" or 3"
The tek 15" is just too big and heavy for me same goes for NEL, CORS and brothers.

thank you all.

Yes i have one coming before the weekend, its about the same weight as the stock coil but so much better in about every department,a few other that post on here from the UK use them on the T2 with great success and they all think the Tiger coil is the best one on the market for that machine.

Hello,
unfortunately I cannot find the MARS TIGER coil for the T2 for sale.
It is not even listed in their catalog, they sell it only for the greek series.

I live in Europe, any advice?

All the folks who use them in the UK get them from uneartheduk,i cannot rate this setup high enough,i dont have any connections with this company just a very happy customer.

Hi,
i just ordered the MARS Tiger coil for my T2 but i will have to wait a couple of weeks to get it.

I will update this post with some tests.

Who is selling Mars coils in the USA?

But nothing on their web site yet.

Kellyco will be the authorized dealer for MARS coils, you want see them advertized on the website though till they actually have them in stock for the first time, once first shipment arrives they will then be listed on KC website...

I get the old "many a slip between the cup and the lip" idea that one is overly courageous presuming a relationship before it exists in reality. The light weight and reputed excellence of these loops/coils is causing episodic hypertension among the post cyber Monday survivors. :hot:

Well, me anyway.
