Teknetics T2SE Loves Buttons

It found me a bunch of civil war relics and buttons today. My hunting buddy found the rest of his CS spur. That was a miracle. The usual silver coins and wheat pennies.

They sure do like buttons. I find more buttons with my T2 than any of the other detectors I have used. Nice finds. HH

I found this really small flat button down around 8 inches. It locked on good. I had the sensitivity at 75, 2+ tones and 10 on the discrimination.

All I do is listen for the 'zip' in all the iron tones. This button was surrounded by lots of nails.

I guess it depends if the target is masked out or not with the higher discrimination setting. Good question. I'm new to the T2. Maybe someone with experience can help.

I have this zip thing down when it comes to buttons. I found another eagle button today. My hunting buddy found a nice 1906 barber dime with a 'O' mint mark. It was near where he found his standing liberty quarter and a bunch of mercury dimes a few of days ago. We are finding so many wheat pennies we can't keep count. Several Indian Head pennies have been unearthed. I have a bucket full of civil war relics out in the garage that I haven't even cleaned yet. I'm new to relic hunting. It's a lot of work!

The T2SE kicks butt.

Lot's of good stuff is coming out of this virgin site. My hunting buddy found a CS spur with one side broken off. He went back a week later and found the broken off piece about 20 yards away. It has a star on the broken off piece. Also a breast and box plate have been unearthed along with plenty of bullets and other interesting stuff. I'm new to civil war relic hunting. Most of the stuff, I can't ID. I'm going to put everything in a bucket that I find at the site and not throw anything away until someone can ID what I have found. I'm betting that there are some really old coins lost at this site. Maybe a gold one.

With the T2SE discrimination set at 10, 2+ tones and the sensitivity set around 75 or 80, I just do broad fairly fast sweeps until I hear a 'zip'. Almost every time I can only hear the 'zip' sound going one way because of all the iron and nails. I zero in on it with shorter sweeps and then pinpoint. Usually, I find a bunch of nails and iron pieces in the same hole with the good stuff. The T2SE can sniff it out.

The only thing that I wish was different about the T2SE is its 3 tone setting. I don't want nickel and silver having the same high tone.

When on the prowl for silver coins, I don't want to hear any trash targets that fall on the nickel range.
