Teknetics T2SE Strikes Gold - Thanks Elton:smile:

I took my new T2SE that Elton talked me into getting out to a local park today. Most of the day I had the discrimination set at '10', sensitivity at 80 with 2+ tones. Well, I got tired and decided to take Elton's advice and run the discrimination at '40' to do some coin shooting. I've been relic hunting all day long and I was wore slap dab out. Digging all of those Civil War relics and silver for the last few days didn't help matters either. I left the discrimination and tones set the same, but I switched over to the boost mode. A few minutes later I got a nice clean small sounding tone with a reading of '75'. It really locked on rock solid. I pulled the pinpoint trigger and It showed that it was 8 inches deep. I dug down around the depth of my ProPointer and out pops a beautiful vintage gold ring. A hefty 8.25 grams. This old ring has been in the ground for a very long time.

Yep, I did the gold ring dance.:jump:

Tabman, looks like the T2 is starting to pay for itself. Awesome ring. Nice dirt hunting today...............

WTG!! That's a beauty. Can't wait until the weather and ground clears up around here so I can get my new T2SE out for the first time. Good luck and HH. Bob.

You're going to have a ball with the T2SE. It can find the good stuff even if it's deep or hiding in a bed of nails. It locked solidly onto a silver quarter at 8 inches. I don't think that quarter could have hidden from the T2SE even if it was 12 inches deep.

Stunning find.

Now thats a ring! Say, does a "75" signal on the T2 relate to a zinc? An aluminum screwoff cap? Are there any karat markings inside? I would imagine a ring of that size and weight would sound like a zinc...I know you pretty much dig everything, and that there is one hell of a trophy for all the work you do!:clapping:
Mud

Mud the ring's ID number is a little less than a zinc penny. I get around a 77 on a zinc. Most aluminum screw caps are around 80. There's no karat mark, but you can tell there's a high content of gold. It's a small ring size, but it's really solid and heavy for its size. I know someone was crying the blues when they lost this stunning ring. The craftsmanship is top self. I'd say this ring is at least a hundred years old.

I got so excited about finding the gold ring that I never did get around to posting my recent silver find or all my Civil War finds. Too much stuff and not enough time.:)

Tab, that is a stunning ring and a really neat find. :beers: I was wondering about the initials, too. Looks like the T 2 SE is doing the job. You have made some mighty nice finds with it the past few days. Good swinging! HH jim tn

With no hallmark it has to be old.Hallmarks were mandatory on fine jewelry at some point in the early 1900's i believe. How do you like that detector tab?I know that's a dumb question. What does the t2 have?notch, tones? That is a beautiful ring tab.You got me wanting a t2 now.WTG!

thats a honker the t2 is a heck of a machine and if you where one of those guys that leaves zincs it might still be in the ground. great find :surprised:

Beautiful ring, tabman. It's great when a new detector helps to find good stuff from the very start. We can only imagine what you will be finding when you get used to it:lol: Keep up the good work.
